Crowdy Days

A series of frame-by-frame animated illustrations​​​​​​​


After the corona lockdowns crowded spaces seemed somehow both threatening and desirable at the same time, so I found it was an interesting topic to explore. Capturing the sensation of being confronted with crowds again and playing with the dynamic and mood that they can create. Focusing on the combination of abstract movements and figurative illustrations and characters leading to some kind of rhythmic but subtle choreography. Each of the animations shows a different topic and the characters are in a different relation to each other. However they all give a lot of room for personal interpretation.

Overall I have been working on the animations in a time span of a year and each one has been taken up to 3 weeks to create and finish. Here is some work in progress:
